Killlaloe Boat Rental: Terms & Conditions for Vessel HireAll bookings made on
Killaloe Boat Rental are made subject to the following conditions. Hire
agreement is mandatory for hire and should be signed by each member of the passenger list.
Eligibility for RentalTo be eligible to hire a vessel from Killlaloe Boat Rental, the
Hirer must:
- Be 25 years of age or older at the time of booking and collection.
Killlaloe Boat Rental (referred to as "the Company") agrees to provide the
Vessel to the Hirer on the specific date and at the confirmed time as detailed in the booking confirmation email issued to the Hirer. The Company retains the exclusive right to refuse any hire at its sole discretion, without providing specific reasons.
1.Bookings are accepted subject to the craft being available. In the event that the craft is
rendered unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, all amounts paid shall be
refunded to the hirer in full, and the hirer shall have no further claim of any kind against
the company.
2.The Hirer is prohibited from permitting any person who is not named in the Hire
Agreement to embark upon or remain on board the Vessel.
3.Fishing while on board the vessel is strictly prohibited.
4.A Hirer shall not consume alcohol or drugs or any combination of drugs or of drugs and alcohol while on board the vessel in circumstances which could affect the safety of
persons or create a disturbance on board the vessel or affect the safety of other persons using Irish waters or constitute a nuisance to such persons. The hirer shall not allow
another to operate or control or attempt to operate or control the vessel while he or she
or the other is under the influence of alcohol or drugs or any combination of drugs or of
drugs and alcohol. The driver is strictly prohibited from consuming any alcohol.
Alcohol consumption by other passengers is highly restricted, with the following
exceptions permitted: a maximum of two 0.5L cans of lager beer per person, or one
bottle of white or sparkling wine per two persons. Spirits, red wine, and dark beer
(e.g., Guinness) are strictly prohibited.
The Company reserves the right to refuse access to the craft if, in its sole discretion, the Hirer or any member of the crew exhibits signs of excessive alcohol consumption prior to commencement of the Hire Period, in which case all booking fees shall be forfeited by the Hirer.5.
All passengers must wear a personal flotation device (PFD) at all times while on board the vessel. Failure to wear a suitable PFD will result in a fine.
6.For safety reasons, all passengers must remain on board the vessel throughout the
entire rental period.
Swimming and diving from the vessel are strictly prohibited.
7.The Hirer shall be obliged to return the Vessel to the location specified by the
Company, at the agreed time, and in the same good condition as received upon
acceptance. Early return does not entitle the Hirer a refund claim. In the event of any delay in returning the Vessel, a fine of €40 shall be
imposed for every 30 minutes of delay.
8.In the event of a delay in returning the vessel caused by the previous hirer, the
Company may offer a full refund and shall not bear any additional financial liability.
9.No prior experience is required; however, the Company reserves the right to refuse
handover of the Vessel to any Hirer whom it deems, in its sole discretion, unsuitable to
assume charge thereof.
10.Upon acceptance of the vessel, the hirer shall receive a briefing on vessel operation,
navigation, and safety on board. Upon completion of this briefing, the hirer shall
assume full responsibility for the vessel and all passengers.
For the entire duration of the charter period, the company shall not be liable
for any injuries, losses, or damages occurring on board. All responsibility for the safe
operation of the vessel, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and the safety of all
persons on board shall rest solely with the hirer.
11.Should children be on board, the Hirer assumes full and undivided responsibility for their
safety, conduct, and entertainment throughout the Hire Period. The Company explicitly disclaims responsibility for the safety of children on board. The Hirer acknowledges that the nature of power-boating may render it unsuitable for individuals with certain physical disabilities, medical conditions, or those undergoing medical treatment. Hirers are strongly encouraged to contact Killlaloe Boat Rental to discuss any concerns regarding suitability prior to booking. By signing the Hire Agreement, the Hirer warrants the medical fitness of all crew members accompanying them on the Vessel.
12.All fines for violations of safety rules and vessel operation on the water shall be
imposed upon the Hirer.
13.Mooring or anchoring or disembarking anywhere other than the designated starting point is
prohibited.
14.The Hirer shall not, under any circumstances, exceed the speed limits in restricted
speed areas.
15.The Hirer shall not approach the shore closer than 20 meters under any circumstances,
to prevent damage to the hull and engine components (a fine may be imposed). This
restriction does not apply during exceptional Killaloe channel navigation.
Propeller/Underwater Gear Damage: A minimum charge of €80.00 for any damage
caused to the propeller or underwater running gear. The Hirer assumes full
responsibility for any such damage. It is strongly advised that the Hirer verifies the
condition of the propeller and underwater running gear prior to departure.
16.The Hirer shall be obliged to adhere strictly to the designated navigation boundaries
and shall not violate them under any circumstances.
17.The Hirer shall have no right to use the vessel for water sports, including water skiing,
wakeboarding, or similar activities.
18.No pets are permitted on board the vessel.
19.If you have any medical conditions, please consult your physician or contact us to
discuss any relevant details prior to booking. All medical conditions are disclosed to
the company before boarding the vessel.
Due to the vessel's design, it is not accessible to wheelchair users.
20.The maximum number of passengers permitted on board is five (5), including children,
with a total combined weight not exceeding 420 kg.
21.Cancelation. Customers will receive a full refund or credit if they give notice of
cancellation with 48 hours of booking. Customers will also receive a full refund or
credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen
circumstances. Contact us by email killaloeboatrental@gmail.com to cancel or inquire
about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.
22.The Company reserves the right to cancel any booking due to adverse weather
conditions, in which case a full refund shall be made to the Hirer.
23.In the event of an unforeseen vessel breakdown, the Company undertakes to refund all
funds paid, provided such breakdown was not caused by any actions or negligence on
the part of the Hirer. In such circumstances, the Company shall not bear any additional
financial liability.
24.Rain does not constitute grounds for cancellation of a reservation.
25.Hirers are advised that no insurance coverage is provided for personal injury, death,
loss, or damage to personal property. Hirers are recommended to obtain separate
insurance coverage for such risks
